Virtuoso jazz guitarist Peter Sprague will perform at the UUFSD 50th Anniversary & Valentine Day Concert, on Saturday, February 14, at 7 p.m. Sprague’s trio will include Bob Magnusson on Bass and vocalist Leonard Patton. Sprague, called a musical powerhouse, is considered by many to be San Diego’s premier jazz performer. He combines a deep interest in Brazilian music, American pop and jazz into a style uniquely his own.
San Diego based jazz bassist Bob Magnusson is in great demand as a jazz, pop, and classical bassist. Leonard Feather of the Los Angeles Times wrote: "His solos are models of creative, spontaneous artistry. His tone is full, rich and consistent; he is one of those masters who can achieve effortlessly any phrase that comes to his mind."
Leonard Patton is making a name for himself on the Southern California scene as a musician with talent rarely seen in vocalists of this genre. Leonard is singing and improvising his way into the hearts of jazz aficionados everywhere.
