Scope

On-Site Saturday (OSS) is a Buildings & Grounds work party on the first Saturday of each month. OSS gives Group Leaders and Recruits a focal point for planning. This document lists activities and sign-ups for the next OSS.

8:30 AM Leaders arrive - get tools, plan tasks
9:00 AM Recruits arrive - Leaders brief recruits. Get started!
11:45 AM Clean up, put tools away.
Noon Have lunch. Chit-chat.
12:30 PM Wash dishes. Leaders review, Lock-up.
Lunch

We always enjoy a delicious, nutritious lunch prepared in the Fellowship kitchen and served on real dinnerware. Chef plans the menu, shops and cooks (2~3 hrs). Dishwasher cleans dishes and flatware (1 hr).

Tasks by Group

These tasks are proposed for the next On-Site Saturday by the working groups of the Buildings &Grounds Committee. Please contact Stu Anderson to sign up as a LEADER or a RECRUIT for any of these tasks and to reserve lunch. Please sign up by Wednesday so we have a couple days to shop for food and supplies.

Volunteers are certainly welcome to tackle other items on the UUBG-042 Tasks: TODO List at any time.

Clear Junk @ Toolshed
During UUBG-011 Project: Reorganize Tool Shed material was removed from the toolshed. Clean up junk around toolshed into Lou's trailer. Excavate level area on north side of toolshed, put the 8' long table from back of amphitheater there with useful materials on top. Collect the lumber and plywood scraps from office and amphitheater projects.
REQ: 2 people for 3 hours, work gloves, strong backs

Clear Plants for Fleming Memorial
Remove plants from area where Fleming Memorial will be, just West of Founders' Hall. Clear the area west of the Hall and east of pine tree between path on north side and lower parking lot on the south. Clear the terrace south of the Hall (above the parking lot).
REQ: 3 folks for 3 hours; Loppers, tarp, shovels, pick, weeding fork;

Repair Bricks @ Nursery
The roots of a pepper tree have pushed up bricks in front of the nursery. This trip hazard has already injured one of our members. Remove bricks in the area, cut back the roots and re-lay the bricks.
REQ: 2 people for 3 hours; trowel, saw or sawzall, sand

Weatherproof Office Skylight
The holes in the wood area around the skylight in the office need to be closed before the rainy and cold season starts.
REQ: Construction expertise. Start with inspection.



Future Plans

On-Site Saturday events are scheduled the first Saturday of each month, unless there is a conflict with a special event, such as a wedding.
