WORK PARTY CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN

STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING INSTEAD

The valiant crew agreed to come unless it was actually raining. Well it did. So we converted to an impromptu meeting (UUBG-062 Minutes: 2008-01-05 Steering Committee).

A handful of folks gathered a week later and finished the prime task: Fix Bricks @ Main Steps. The original plan and signups are kept here for historical purposes:

Noon Have lunch. Chit-chat.

Lunch

We always enjoy a delicious, nutritious lunch prepared in the Fellowship kitchen and served on real dinnerware. Chef plans the menu, shops and cooks (2~3 hrs). Dishwasher cleans dishes and flatware (1 hr).

Fix Bricks @ Main Steps
A small sunken area of bricks at the top of the main stairs remains as a trip hazard. Lift these bricks out, put in sand and relay the bricks.
More urgent is the recent collapse at the bottom of the main steps. A car must have run over the corner and shoved the railroad tie out of place. Remove the loose bricks. Reinstall the railroad tie. Pound in re-bar or steel stakes to hold the tie. Then replace sand and relay the bricks.
REQ: 3 people for 3 hr, trowel, prybar, sledge, sand, gloves, goggles.
