June 8th at 6:30-8:15PM - Palmer Library On Monday, June 8th, at 6:30pm at UUFSD in the Palmer Library (one floor above the restrooms, in the building to the right of the central stairway from the parking lot)the 2nd Monday Book Club will be discussing the memoir “Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight: An African Childhood” by Alexandra Fuller (2001).

From 1972 to 1990, Alexandra Fuller, known to friends and family as Bobo, grew up on several farms in southern and central Africa.

Her mother flung herself into their African life and its rugged farm work with the same maniacal energy she brought to everything. She taught her daughters, by example, to be resilient and self-sufficient. Little Bobo grows up feeling completely African. Only after growing up can she understand that her family were white settlers and that she can never be truly African.
