We are doing a great job each month supplying sugar for our 30 families in need. Thank you! The one-pound boxes are perfect if you can find them. The families are so appreciative of the staples, fresh produce, toilet paper, dog food, diapers, children's books, and so forth they receive every week. Plug in Solar Panels Are Here Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the Plug and Play Solar Act, SB868: It will take effect on January 1, 2027. This bill specifies a statewide safety standard for Plug-in solar, sets the size of the panels at a max of 1,200 watts and states the the utility companies are not involved so that permissions and fees do not apply. Healthcare needs in Guatemala are immense. Affordable hearing aids are especially difficult to find, and there are currently only four audiologists in the entire country. One of those specialists is a fellow Rotarian colleague of mine. He is leading a professional effort to safely clean, test, and re-use pre-owned hearing aids for patients who cannot afford them. San Diego Climate Week The second annual San Diego Climate Week is Oct. 1 - 8 and features in-person and online events throughout the county. SDCW brings together residents, businesses, nonprofits, artists, scientists, educators, and policymakers for a series of events focused on climate education, action, and resilience. October 24, 2026 at 11am-4pm - Founders Hall and Core Area The UUFSD Palestine-Israel Justice Group is partnering with the RAMMUN Foundation and North County for Palestine, to host an “Art Market Fair For Palestine,” on Saturday, October 24 in Founders Hall and the Core Area, from 11 am to 4 pm. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of art goes to Gaza relief. There will be food, local art and live performances. Everyone is welcome.
