From MomsRising

New data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows that deaths due to mental health conditions rose 5% in just one year.  This new report also notes a big increase in deaths occurring later in the postpartum period.  This means that the postpartum window of risk is growing, and our systems are not keeping up. Too many moms are being sent home after birth with no access to mental health care. No one should have to suffer alone after bringing a baby into this world.

From Left Click

People from over 45 countries boarded humanitarian boats carrying food, medicine, and supplies for starving Palestinians in Gaza — and now they are being held after Israeli forces stormed their vessels in international waters. Families say they’ve lost contact with loved ones. Governments are demanding answers. Lawyers and embassies have reportedly been denied access. But instead of pushing for their release, the U.S. is sanctioning some of the activists involved. This is outrageous. These were peaceful civilians trying to deliver aid to starving Palestinians — not criminals.

From Newtown Action Alliance

The House is considering H.R. 1181, the so called "Protecting Privacy in Purchases Act", a Republican bill that would prohibit financial institutions from using a Merchant Category Code (MCC) for firearm and ammunition retailers.

Use THIS CLICK TO EMAIL FORM to tell your Representative and Senators to oppose H.R. 1181 and protect commonsense tools that can help prevent gun trafficking and mass violence.

From CA Common Cause

AB 1821 would make it harder, slower, and more expensive for Californians to access public records under the California Public Records Act. California Common Cause has joined a broad coalition of journalism, civil liberties, taxpayer, and good-government organizations in opposing this bill.
